Privacy Policy

The short version

We don't know who you are. We couldn't tell you if we tried.

What we collect

Nothing that could identify you. Intentionally.

There is no account. No login. No cookies. No ads. No newsletter. When you search, your query is used to fetch results and then forgotten. Nothing about you is retained — only enough to keep the service running smoothly for everyone.

Your searches go somewhere

When you search for a brand, person, or organisation, Facet forwards your query to Google's Knowledge Graph API and Wikidata to retrieve results. We don't control what those services do with that information. Their privacy policies apply:

We think it's only fair you know that before you search.

Links in results

Result cards surface links to third-party sites — things like Wikipedia, official websites, Google Maps, Google News, and social profiles (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Crunchbase). These are provided for your convenience.

Once you click one of those links, you've left Facet. What happens next is between you and that site. Their own privacy policies apply, and we have no visibility into what they do.

The part we have to mention

When you visit any website, including this one, your browser automatically sends technical information: your IP address, the date and time of your visit, which browser you're using, and what page you requested. That's just how the internet works.

This site sits behind Cloudflare (opens in new tab) (security & performance), is hosted with Xneelo (opens in new tab) on a dedicated server managed by MyEcommerce (opens in new tab). These parties may retain standard server logs as part of normal infrastructure operations. We do not access, analyse, or derive anything meaningful from those logs. Nobody is poring over them. They exist because deleting them would require more effort than ignoring them.

How long things stick around

Not long. Search results are cached briefly so the service stays fast, and then they're gone. Facet is designed to hold the minimum possible state at any given moment. It's a lookup tool, not a database.

Changes to this policy

If we ever introduce accounts, advertising, or any form of tracking, we'll update this page. We don't currently plan to.
